Fellow Toastmasters, As was explained in last evening's business session of our Club meeting; this weekend we will have special trainings for all members as well as incumbent Club officers and those interested in becoming an Officer for the new term 2008-2009. The training is an Area 5 training meaning that it is open to all members of the four Clubs on the island.
However, for the members of the Philipsburg Toastmasters Club this is an extreme important trainings.
WHY?????????????? You may ask?
Well, because according to the Distinguished Club requirements set for all Clubs, Our Club has to date achieved 8 out of the 10 goals. With the training of four Club officers this weekend we will achieve 9 out of the ten goals; thus making our Club 'President Distinguished'!!
This is quite an accomplishment as this is the first time that a Club on St Maarten will have achieved the President Distinguished status by the middle of February (7 1/2 months).
Added to that is the fact that we are proud to be having most of the trainings done by local Toastmasters including six members from our own Club. So let's take some time out this Saturday and Sunday afternoon and come out to the trainings!!!!!!!!
