It's the president responsibility to make sure that all members are satisfied with their Toastmasters experience. Satisfied members are active and active members assure stronger Club. To ensure member satisfaction, tune in to your members. Work closely with the Vice President Education to learn what your members need in order to stay interested in the Toastmasters program. [ The Member Interest Survey ( Catalog No. 405) are good tools for this.] Keeping members happy can be simple and involving them in Club issues. Monitor your members' satisfaction by periodically distributing Club Evaluation Climate Questionnaires (Catalog No. 251C). Additionally, you can:
* Improve Club meetings. Research shows that member retention depends on the success of your meetings. Work with the Vice President Education and other officers to keep meeting diverse, entertaining, and educational.
* Encourage members to remain active in the Club. It's easy for people to let Toastmasters slip to the bottom of their priority list. Stay in contact with any member who has developed an irregular attendance pattern or who stops attending Club meetings altogether. Find out if there's a problem and attempt to rectify it. Let him or her know that he or she is a valued member and make it easy and convenient for him or her to return.
